President Trump has issued executive orders to eliminate gender ideology and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the federal government. One of his first actions was signing an order titled "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremisms and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government." This directive mandates all federal agencies to cease using the term "gender" and instead use "sex."

The order states, “It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.” It further defines sex as a biological identity present from conception.

Federal agencies are prohibited from funding or promoting gender ideology, described as "corrosive" and an "attack on women." Agencies must remove any related policies or publications that support gender ideology. The order also emphasizes protecting female-only spaces from men who identify as women, with compliance reports due within 120 days.

Trump's orders are expected to influence both domestic and foreign policies. He rescinded previous executive orders by Biden that supported LGBTQ+ agendas in U.S. foreign policy. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the State Department would refocus on diplomacy without political or cultural divisions.

Further actions include an order ending federal efforts to censor free speech, encouraging media platforms to uphold it. This is significant for pro-life advocates facing censorship labeled as misinformation or hate speech.

Additionally, Trump issued an executive order concerning artificial intelligence (AI), directing the development of unbiased AI systems free from ideological influences.

In international health matters, Trump announced U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization due to its stance on abortion. He pardoned twenty-three pro-life activists and backed a Congressional bill for medical care for infants surviving attempted abortions.

There have been no announcements about reinstating a ban on U.S. funding for groups promoting abortions abroad or withholding funds from the UN Population Fund—measures historically enacted by Republican administrations since Reagan’s era.
