Father Craig Clinch will direct a silent retreat, “Remember the Embers,” from Sept. 20-22 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
The weekend aims to explain the Church tradition of Ember Days, which are days set apart in each of the four seasons for special prayer and thanksgiving. Attendees will learn how Ember Days facilitate all four forms of prayer: adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, and supplication.
Father Clinch is the pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in Hastings and director of Hispanic Ministry in the Hastings area.
The retreat begins at 8 p.m. on Friday with the rosary and Mass and concludes on Sunday with Mass and lunch at noon. The Masses for Ember Days will be Traditional Latin Masses. The event is open to men and women of all ages.
