The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America criticized the Biden-Harris administration following the Department of Justice's announcement of lawsuits against two pro-life advocacy groups. The groups, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and Red Rose Rescue, are accused of violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. These organizations have contested the DOJ’s portrayal of their activities at abortion facilities, denying accusations that they block, grab, or intimidate individuals.
In a related case, pro-life advocate Heather Idoni was sentenced to two years in prison despite her serious health issues. Idoni has suffered a stroke and contracted Covid-19 while in jail awaiting sentencing. Allegedly, she has been denied medication for diabetes and a heart condition. Additionally, eight other pro-life advocates have received sentences ranging from 27 months to nearly five years in prison, with one more individual scheduled for sentencing later this month.
Members of Congress, led by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), have sent a letter to the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Prisons seeking information regarding allegations that some pro-life prisoners have been denied necessary medical care.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, issued a statement: "Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders."
