On February 27, Franklin and Shirley Knoop, members of St. Edward Church, will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Shirley Knoop, formerly known as Shirley Gatton, had a career as a dietitian at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and retired from Shirley’s Ceramics and Little Bit of Bybee. Meanwhile, Mr. Knoop retired from the Courier-Journal and PNC Bank. The couple is blessed with six children and nine grandchildren.

Another couple, J. Byron and Kay Corbett, who are members of the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-cathedral, will mark their 50th wedding anniversary on March 2. Mrs. Corbett, formerly Kay Lawson, retired as the director of worship from the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral. On the other hand, Mr. Corbett retired as the chief financial officer, CPA, from Mago Construction Company after 35 years. They have two children and five grandchildren.

Joining the celebration is Mr. and Mrs. James “Jim” Thomas DeLozier from St. John Paul II Church, who will also be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on March 2. Mrs. DeLozier, formerly known as Kathleen “Kathy” Lesak, dedicated over 30 years of service to Archdiocese of Louisville schools as a teacher and principal. Mr. DeLozier retired as a project manager from Construction Hardware after 40 years. The couple is proud parents of three children and seven grandchildren.

As these three couples commemorate their decades-long journey of love and commitment, they serve as an inspiration for many, showcasing the beauty of enduring relationships and the strength found in a lifelong partnership.
