Nearly 9,000 donors contributed a total of $2,213,146 to Catholic parishes, schools, and charitable ministries in the Philadelphia area during this year’s #iGiveCatholic event on GivingTuesday. The initiative, recognized as the official Catholic Giving Day nationwide, was organized locally by The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia in partnership with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary Appeal and the Catholic Charities Appeal were among the top five recipients across the country for total funds raised through #iGiveCatholic. Since its local launch in 2020, #iGiveCatholic has generated over $9.6 million for Catholic organizations within the Archdiocese.

The annual campaign aims to strengthen fundraising capacity for local parishes, schools, and organizations by encouraging a culture of philanthropy within the Catholic community.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, commented on this year’s results: “I was thrilled to learn that this year’s #iGiveCatholic initiative set a new record in our local Church, raising more than $2.2 million for parishes, schools, and charitable ministries throughout our local Church.”

He added: “On behalf of all those whose lives will be touched by your generosity, I extend deep and prayerful gratitude. Your support is a powerful reflection of faith in action and a reminder of the light we are called to be for others. May God bless you abundantly during this holy season of Advent and always.”

Ted Qualli, President and CEO of The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia said: “This incredible achievement is a testament to the generosity of donors across the Greater Philadelphia region. Every act of generosity, big or small, helped us reach this milestone. Raising more than $2.2 million reflects the depth of commitment and compassion within our Catholic community.”

Sponsors supporting this year’s campaign included James and Agnes Kim and Family Foundation; The Clark Family; Dilworth Paxson LLP; Porter & Curtis Consultative Insurance Brokers; Saul Ewing; Stradley Ronon; Cathedral Letter Concepts; PDC Graphics; Connor Strong & Buckelew; and Immaculata University.

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia operates as an independent nonprofit focused on growing philanthropy according to Christian teachings through fund management and development consulting.
