Reverend Larry Silva, Bishop | Diocese of Honolulu
Bishop Larry Silva will preside over the 2026 Red Mass, set for 9 a.m. on January 14 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Honolulu. The event, organized annually by the Diocese of Honolulu, seeks divine guidance for public officials as they prepare for the new legislative session.
The keynote speaker this year is Connie Mitchell, executive director of the Institute for Human Services. Her address, titled “Radical Justice in Tumultuous Times,” will focus on how each generation faces distinct challenges while following the biblical call to justice and humility.
According to organizers, “Her talk will explore how each generation presents unique challenges to people of faith as they strive to heed God’s call to ‘do justice, while loving mercy and walking humbly with God’ (Micah 6:8).”
Parking at the co-cathedral will be available at no cost. Individuals who require special accommodations are encouraged to contact (808) 585-3347. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the Mass will be accessible at honolulucathedral.org/redmass.
The diocese encourages community participation and prayer for elected leaders and public servants during this annual tradition.
