Catholic Community Services (CCS), part of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia, will hold its 12th annual “Operation Bundle Up” event to help families in need prepare for the winter season. The giveaway is scheduled for December 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Saint Martin of Tours Church on Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia.
During the event, CCS staff and volunteers will distribute winter coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather items to individuals and families who may have difficulty accessing these necessities. Representatives from the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Fire Department, American Heritage Credit Union, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will also participate.
The event will feature activities such as prizes, face painting, refreshments, and visits from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Around 20 vendors are expected to attend to provide information about additional resources for families. CCS will also offer a “free market” table with a limited supply of baby clothing and school supplies.
In 2024, CCS distributed 750 winter coats and accessories to 363 families during this community initiative.
CCS operates as Community Umbrella Agency #4 (CUA #4) under designation by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. The agency serves dependent children and families in Northeast Philadelphia through community engagement programs, prevention services, and case management.
