The Korean community at St. Ignatius Kim Parish in Orlando marked the arrival of a new priest on November 9, 2025. Bishop John Noonan joined parishioners to say farewell to Father Aventinus Han, Deog Su and welcome Father Petrus Kim, Myung Sub.

A member of the parish commented, “Father Han always emphasized the importance of not forgetting mother languages and strived and contributed to make the Church community a place where kids and youth parishioners want to come.” Another parishioner added that he had a “positive impact on the community, especially in encouraging kids and youths to learn Korean by promoting Sunday School.”

This transition is part of a tradition where every five years, a new priest from Korea joins the Orlando-based Korean Catholic community.
