A series of food distribution events are scheduled to take place across O‘ahu in early November, offering free groceries and essential items to the community. The ’Ohana Produce Plus program provides fresh produce, dry goods, nonperishable foods, and other necessities at no cost. There are no income requirements for participation.
The upcoming distributions will be held at several locations:
- On November 4, Inspire Church at Patsy T. Mink Central O‘ahu Regional Park in Waipahu will host a pick-up from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., available as both walk-up and drive-thru.
- On November 5, Central Union Church in Honolulu will offer pick-up from 11 a.m. to noon for walk-ups and noon to 1 p.m. for drive-thru participants.

Organizers note that anyone can receive food through the program: “There are no income requirements for this program, and anyone can receive food at through ‘Ohana Produce Plus.”
In addition to the food distributions, there is ongoing concern regarding the timing of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this month. Organizers state: “We also recognize the uncertainty surrounding the release of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November. If you rely on SNAP, please know that additional support is available. You are not alone — Hawai‘i Foodbank, together with our government and community partners, is committed to ensuring that you and your ‘ohana have access to the food and resources you need.” More information about support during potential government shutdowns can be found on the Hawaiʻi Foodbank website.
