The School of Education at St. John's University recently held its second workshop focused on Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) executive function. The session, which took place on October 25 at the university's Queens campus, was led by Bonni Cohen, Ed.D., a former principal with expertise in ADHD.

The Institute for Catholic Schools sponsored the event, bringing together more than two dozen educators from both K–12 and higher education settings. During the four-hour workshop, participants examined how executive functioning processes affect individuals with ADHD and discussed how symptoms such as impulsivity, trouble focusing, and hyperactivity are often misinterpreted as behavioral problems rather than neurological conditions.

Attendees learned about the impact of ADHD on both children and adults and received practical guidance on ways to better support members of the ADHD community.
