
Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre | Archdiocese of Louisville
Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has announced several new clergy appointments in the Archdiocese of Louisville, effective November 1 unless otherwise stated.
Reverend Peter Bucalo will become pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hodgenville and St. Ann Church in Howardstown. This change coincides with the end of his responsibilities at St. Stephen Martyr Church. Father Bucalo, originally from the Bronx, New York City, attended St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Indiana, where he earned a Master of Arts in Catholic philosophical studies and a Master of Divinity. He was ordained on May 30, 2015. His previous roles include serving as pastor at Mary Queen of Peace Church and as associate pastor at Holy Name, Holy Spirit, and Holy Trinity churches.
Reverend L. Wilfredo Fernandez will serve as administrator pro tempore at St. Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley from October 20 through December 1 before returning to his role as associate pastor there. His appointment comes with the conclusion of his duties at St. Edward Church.
Reverend Thomas E. Gentile is appointed administrator pro tempore for St. Stephen Martyr Church.
Deacon Joseph R. Dant’s term as administrator pro tempore at Our Lady of Mercy Church and St. Ann Church will end; he will continue serving as deacon at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon and Holy Name of Mary Church in Calvary.
Reverend Steven D. Henriksen will retire from his positions as administrator at St. Boniface Church and associate pastor at St. Frances of Rome Church on November 3.
