Benedictine University held its annual Homecoming event from October 1 to 4, 2025, welcoming alumni back to campus for a series of activities designed to strengthen ties between graduates and the institution.
The event began on Wednesday with “Journeys in Leadership,” featuring Kelly Carlson, MBA, a BenU alum from the class of 1991. On Friday, the university hosted the Alumni Achievement Awards.
Saturday’s schedule included academic programming and traditional festivities. The morning saw the return of the Organizational Development Lecture Series with David Jamieson, PhD. Jamieson led a session focused on building adaptive organizations and leading change.
After the lecture, alumni attended the annual Homecoming Tailgate at the Rice Center Parking Lot. Attendees included members of various graduating classes such as the Golden Eagles from the Class of 1975. Tents were hosted by several groups including Goodwin College of Business and Liberal Arts, College of Science and Health, Black Alumni Network, Eagle Club, and BenU Library and Archives.
The Homecoming football game against Rockford started at 1 p.m., where Benedictine’s team achieved a victory with a score of 42-9.
In addition to these events, there was an evening gathering for Golden Eagles at The Pub at Coal Ben that featured music and dinner. The class of 1965 also held an event on Kindlon Hall’s fifth floor.
The weekend was organized as an opportunity for Benedictine University’s community to celebrate tradition and maintain strong relationships with its alumni.
