Archbishop Allen Vigneron | Archdiocese of Detriot

Twelve pilgrimage sites in the Archdiocese of Detroit have been designated by Archbishop Allen Vigneron as locations where Catholics may obtain a plenary indulgence during the Jubilee Year. The announcement was made through a rescript issued on December 20, 2024.

To receive an indulgence, individuals must visit one of these sites with the intention of obtaining the indulgence. While at the site, visitors are required to participate in Eucharistic adoration or meditation for a suitable period, recite the Our Father and a Profession of Faith—such as the Apostles’ Creed or Nicene Creed—and ask for the intercession of Mary, Mother of God. The indulgence can be applied either to oneself or to a soul of the faithful departed.

A complete list of designated pilgrimage sites is available at https://aod.org/jubilee.

For more details about this decree, individuals can contact the Chancellor’s Office at chancellor@aod.org. Additional information about the Jubilee Year can also be found at https://aod.org/jubilee.
