Bellarmine University’s Campus Ministry and Department of Environmental Studies are organizing a walking pilgrimage on September 30 as part of the university’s observance of the Season of Creation and “Laudato Si’ Week.” The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning at the Thomas Merton Center located on the second floor of Bellarmine’s library.
The pilgrimage will include stops at nine trees across campus, where participants will engage in prayer, listen to poetry, and hear brief reflections from several guest speakers. Among those scheduled to speak is Dr. David Robinson, emeritus professor of botany.
Attendees should be prepared for an hour-and-a-half walk covering about a mile through various areas of the campus, ending at the grotto behind Our Lady of the Woods Chapel. The event is open to the public. Those seeking more information can contact campusministry@bellarmine.edu.
