Benedictine University’s Redhawks Women’s Volleyball team opened their season with a five-set win over Bushnell University. The match marked the debut of new Head Coach Madison Kindle, who graduated from Benedictine University’s Mesa campus in 2018. Kindle was a member of the university’s first volleyball teams when its athletic programs began.

Kindle returned to Benedictine after coaching at other institutions. Her appointment as head coach highlights the university’s practice of welcoming alumni back into leadership roles. Grant DeGrasse, who earned his master’s degree from Benedictine in 2021, is also an alum and currently serves as head coach for the Men’s Volleyball team.

“This milestone is particularly meaningful as Kindle is a proud alum of Benedictine University’s Mesa campus, having been part of the very first teams when the programs were launched,” according to the university.

Her return is described by the university as “a powerful testament to her dedication and a wonderful example of alumni pride.”
