As the Fall 2025 semester begins, James D. Wolfinger, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Education at St. John’s University-New York, extended a welcome to both new and returning students.
In his message, Wolfinger acknowledged the transition back to academic life after summer break and addressed newcomers as well as those continuing their studies. “To our newcomers, a heartfelt welcome! By choosing to pursue your education at St. John’s, you are taking a powerful step that will transform your life and shape your future. For those of you returning, it is gratifying to see your commitment to continuing this journey with us,” he said.
Wolfinger emphasized the range of opportunities available for student engagement and growth in both in-person and online formats this semester. “This Fall, whether you are attending classes in person or engaging in online learning, an array of opportunities awaits you for engagement, growth, and collaboration. In the School of Education, we are dedicated to equipping you with the tools, resources, and support necessary for you to thrive in your educational pursuits,” he stated.
He concluded by encouraging students to reach out if they need assistance during the semester: “Congratulations on the commitment you have made to education! We are genuinely excited to walk alongside you as you navigate your academic path. Welcome, everyone! If you have any questions or need assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to the dean’s office. Together, let’s make this semester an extraordinary one!”
