Teresa Delgado, Ph.D., Dean of St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, hosted an alumni reception at her home in Westchester, NY. The event marked the end of the 2024–25 academic year and aimed to generate enthusiasm for St. John’s University’s new capital campaign, Hearts on Fire.
The reception was catered by a New Rochelle restaurant favored by Dean Delgado, highlighting her connection to the local community. Attendees engaged in conversations and shared reflections during the gathering.
Giana Giacalone ’25C remarked on the event's significance: “The reception was a reminder that leadership is not only about responsibility or recognition, but about presence, understanding, and the ability to bring people together.” Khalani Smith ’25C described it as “a celebration of community, with a toast for the future,” appreciating the evening's support and inspiration.
Mark Andrews, Director of Development at St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, noted that “Dean Delgado’s hospitality underscored the values she brings to her role: compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to student success and institutional growth.” He added that as St. John’s College embarks on a transformative chapter, "the reception served as both a celebration and a call to action."
