Rev. Dennis Marion Schnurr Bishop | Archdiocese of Cincinnati website
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has announced that Archbishop Robert G. Casey will lead four memorial Masses in honor of Pope Francis. These services will be held across the archdiocese as part of the 30-day mourning period following the pontiff's passing.
The masses are scheduled for April 28 at St. Michael Church in Ft. Loramie, May 5 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Centerville, May 12 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dayton, and May 21 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains in Cincinnati. The May 12 Mass will be conducted in Spanish and will be significant as Archbishop Casey is the first in his position fluent in Spanish, marking a milestone for the local Hispanic community.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati ranks as the 45th largest in the United States, with a community of nearly 440,000 Catholics. It also holds the fifth position for its Catholic school system, enrolling over 40,000 students.
