Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez | Archdiocese of Philedelphia
Saint John's Hospice, a service arm of the Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is collaborating with Troop 544 of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania to prepare 200 casseroles. These casseroles are integral to the meals that the hospice provides weekly for its residents and community members who experience homelessness.
The event, taking place at Radnor High School, involves support from the school's "Casseroles for a Cause" club, additional girl scout troops, and various community organizations. Scheduled for April 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the high school located on 130 King of Prussia Road in Wayne, PA, this initiative exemplifies community collaboration.
The club "Casseroles for a Cause" was inspired by Girl Scout Cadettes who identified SJH's seasonal food shortages. Their ongoing project aims to raise awareness and address homelessness through student engagement locally. A Girl Scout Ambassador from Troop 544 and a committed student, who has been contributing casseroles to the hospice for over a decade, initiated the high school club to ensure these efforts continue.
