Magnificat of Lincoln is set to sponsor a holy hour dedicated to praying for priests on Thursday, April 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the chapel of the John XXIII Diocesan Center, located at 3700 Sheridan Blvd., Lincoln.
The event will be overseen by Father Robert Barnhill, the spiritual advisor for Magnificat, and will feature a meditation led by Sister Marie Day of the Schoenstatt Sister of Mary, focusing on the priesthood. Attendees will participate in the rosary and spend time in silent personal prayer.
"Praying for priests" is identified as the fifth objective of the Magnificat ministry. During the holy hour, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase materials from Gloria Deo to aid in praying for priests. Free materials from Magnificat, the Seven Sisters Apostolate, Schoenstatt, and other sources will also be available. For inquiries, individuals are encouraged to contact Rhonda Litt, the Magnificat coordinator, by texting 402.525.6396 or by leaving a message.
Magnificat represents a ministry aimed at Catholic women. It functions as a private association within the Catholic Church, under the authority of the Lincoln Diocese. Women from other Christian denominations are invited to participate.
The central mission of Magnificat is to assist Christian women in becoming more receptive to the Holy Spirit through committing their lives to Jesus as Lord and to promote the imparting of the Holy Spirit through love, service, and sharing the gospel.
