In Philadelphia, the West Catholic Preparatory High School boys' basketball team is preparing for a significant event. The team will compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Boys' 3A Championship against South Allegheny High School from McKeesport. This marks West Catholic’s second chance at the State Championship.

A "Clap-Out" celebration is planned as the team departs for the game in Hershey. The West Catholic Cheerleaders will lead a procession through the school halls that concludes with the team boarding a bus. Kelly Foley, Director of Campus Ministry, will lead the team and supporters in a prayer for safety before departure.

The procession begins at noon on March 28 at West Catholic Preparatory High School, located at 4501 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

West Catholic secured its place in the championship after defeating Holy Cross in the semifinals. The team also won the District XII 3A title, triumphing over Universal Audenried Charter High School.

The championship game is scheduled for March 29 at 2 p.m. and will take place at the Giant Center in Hershey. Those unable to attend in person can watch the game live on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.
