Iona University recently held its annual Spring Career & Internship Fair, an event organized by the Center for Career Development. The fair connected students with over 70 employers who were ready to discuss internship and full-time job opportunities. Students had the chance to network and explore various career paths.
Jennifer Friary, director of Career Development, expressed gratitude towards the participating employers. "We appreciate the support of our employers who helped make this event so impactful," she said. "Watching our students confidently pursue their career goals is truly rewarding and we’re proud of their commitment and preparation."
Andrew Govea, a student pursuing an MBA and an advanced certificate in business continuity, was among those who attended. He credited the Center for Career Development for providing guidance that prepared him well for meeting potential employers. "Career Development helped ensure my resume was in top shape, which is crucial since it’s your first impression," he stated.
Alina Denaut, another student majoring in media & strategic communication, valued the opportunity to engage with prospective employers. She remarked, "It was refreshing to see so many companies and organizations genuinely eager to inspire the next generation regarding future career paths."
The fair's success highlights Iona University's dedication to equipping students with necessary skills and connections for today's competitive job market.
