Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez is set to lead the Saint Patrick’s Day Commemorative Mass on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Philadelphia. The event will take place at Saint Patrick Church, located at 20th and Locust Streets, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Father Kevin Gallagher, serving as the parade chaplain and pastor of Saint Denis Parish in Havertown (Delaware County), will join Archbishop Pérez in the celebration. Before the Mass begins, the Philadelphia Emerald Society Pipe Band will process into the church. Music for the service will be provided by the Bishop Shanahan High School Choir and cantor Karen Boyce McCollum.
Following the Mass, Father Gallagher is scheduled to participate in the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade alongside other marchers at 11:00 a.m. This parade has been a tradition in Philadelphia for over 250 years.
This year's parade introduces a new route beginning at 16th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Participants will head west along Benjamin Franklin Parkway before concluding at Eakins Oval near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Paddy Rooney has been named Grand Marshall for this year’s parade which carries the theme “Saint Patrick, Bless Those Dedicated to Serving Others.”
