When Metrio Robinson observes the students at Christian Brothers University (CBU), he sees potential. Robinson, the Director of Event Management at CBU, is committed to providing educational opportunities for all backgrounds, reflecting the principles of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
"When De La Salle came up with the Lasallian principles, he didn’t focus on the wellbeing of the rich," said Robinson. "He wanted to make sure that everyone had an opportunity to receive an education, no matter what background."
Robinson joined CBU after a career in healthcare and has since embraced his passion for entertainment and entrepreneurship. Known as DJ Truck when performing music, he now manages campus events with a dedicated team.
"Every day changes," Robinson stated. "Mostly, I run the day-to-day operations of every event held on campus—internal, external, and student-based."
His colleagues appreciate his approach to event management. Dr. Lurene Kelley remarked on his professionalism: "Metrio brings a level of fun and professionalism to event management that any organization would be fortunate to have."
Robinson's influence extends beyond formal duties; he actively engages with students, encouraging them to forge their own paths while supporting their academic pursuits.
"You can do your own thing," Robinson emphasized. "I love the students. We talk through different things. We work on homework. I provide them additional support."
Justin Brooks praised Robinson's impact: "Metrio is fun, loving, highly connected... He pushes both his colleagues and our students to think bigger and reach farther."
Robinson’s office is located in the Thomas Center at CBU.
