Rev. James D. Conley, D.D., S.T.L. | Diocese of Lincoln website
Father John Burns, known for his speaking engagements at SEEK and the National Eucharistic Congress, is set to present a conference titled "Renew the Bride, the Church" on March 1. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln.
Ordained as a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 2010, Father Burns has expressed concern over the declining presence of consecrated women religious in the Church and insufficient support for young women called to this life. In 2022, he dedicated himself fully to fostering religious life and vocations by establishing an apostolate named Friends of the Bridegroom. This initiative aims to renew the Church through healing, renewal, and expansion of women's religious life in America.
The diocese invites and encourages its faithful to attend on March 1 to learn how they can contribute to this renewal effort and help build a strong culture of vocational discernment among young women and within families.
The School Sisters of Christ the King sponsor this event, which will feature talks by Father John Burns and opportunities for discussion with women religious from the diocese. For more information or registration details, visit www.cksisters.org/contact-us/events.
