As January comes to a close, the Bishop reflects on the start of the new year and its spiritual significance. In his letter, he emphasizes the renewal of baptismal promises during Mass and encourages believers to carry forth their mission as "pilgrims of hope."

The Bishop highlights the belief that humans are created by God for God, urging individuals to live as members of His Body. He cites St. Paul in reminding that each part of the Body is essential, stating, "if one part suffers, all parts suffer; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy." This serves as a call against jealousy and judgment within the community.

A significant focus is placed on January 22nd, designated as a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. The Bishop calls for gratitude for human life and prays for legal protection and healing for those affected by abortion.

Quoting Pope Francis from January 1st, World Day of Peace, he shares: “all of us are invited to take up the summons that flow from the maternal heart of Mary: to cherish life, to care for life, to restore dignity to the lives of everyone ‘born of woman,’ for this is the basis for building a culture of peace.”

In anticipation of Catholic Schools Week from January 26th to February 1st, themed "United in Faith and Community," he expresses gratitude towards Erika Wikstrom and her team. He acknowledges their efforts alongside principals, teachers, staff, parents, guardians, volunteers, and students who contribute to spreading God's teachings.

Concluding his message with an aspiration for peace and hope worldwide through daily living inspired by faith.
