Immaculate Heart of Mary Counseling Center (IHMCC) in Lincoln is offering free training sessions for mental health professionals, psychology students, and religious figures. The training titled "Attachment-Based Psychospiritual Resourcing" is scheduled for Friday, December 6, from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m.
Dr. Peter Martin from IHMCC has also suggested the podcast series "Attachment & Learning How to Love God, Neighbor, Self" by Interior Integration for Catholics. This series can be accessed on YouTube and various podcast platforms and features speakers like Dr. Martin himself, Dr. Matthew Walz of Holy Trinity Seminary in Texas, Father Boniface Hicks, Jake Khym, Dr. Bob Schuchts, Father Mike Schmitz, Jason Evert, Dr. Edward Sri, Dr. Gerry Crete, Father Dave Pivonka, and Father John Horn.
A live question-and-answer session will take place during Episode 156 at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 12.
Previously part of Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska (CSS), IHMCC now operates independently as a lay organization serving the Church. It has relocated its office to 8055 O St., Suite 301 in Lincoln and has welcomed new doctoral interns and a postdoctoral fellow.
"In all of our trainings, we make efforts to include evidence-based modalities as well as Catholic religious/spiritual integration components tailored to client preferences in the applied clinical setting," stated Dr. Martin.
