Pauline Father Matthew Roehrig is set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his ordination on November 17. Originally from Louisville, Father Roehrig was ordained as a priest on November 17, 1984.
Father Roehrig began his journey with the Society of St. Paul in Staten Island, New York, in 1977 and made his first profession on August 15, 1979. He spent his early years at Holy Trinity Church and graduated from Trinity High School in 1973. He then pursued higher education at Morehead State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications in 1977. His formation took place at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, New York.
Currently serving as provincial councilor for the Mexico-Cuba-USA Province, Father Roehrig also holds the position of director at St. Paul’s Books and Gifts Store located in Canfield. Additionally, he acts as a delegate for the Pauline Institutes of Secular Life.
Throughout his career, Father Roehrig has held various roles within his congregation including local superior and provincial superior for three terms, director of formation, magazine editor, and marketing director for St. Paul’s Publishing.
To mark this significant milestone, Father Roehrig will celebrate Mass at St. Paul Monastery in Canfield, Ohio.
