Members of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) are convening in Baltimore from November 11 to 14 for their 2024 Fall Plenary Assembly. Among the attendees is Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R.
The assembly's public sessions, scheduled for November 12 and 13, will be available via livestream. The proceedings will commence with an address by Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Papal Nuncio to the United States. Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, and president of the USCCB will also speak.
While the agenda remains subject to change, it includes updates on several initiatives and discussions on key topics such as Dignitas Infinita resources and Antiquum Ministerium's interim implementation. Additionally, there will be a discussion on pastoral implementation concerning integral ecology and Laudato si’. Other agenda items include drafting a document on lay ecclesial ministry following up on a previous document from 2005, reviewing the USCCB’s Mission Directive for 2025-2028, discussing budget plans for 2025, addressing three liturgical text action items from the divine worship committee, migration updates, and reports on both the Synod of Bishops from 2021-2024 and a Eucharistic revival initiative.
Furthermore, bishops will consult on beatification causes for Sister Annella Zervas of the Order of Saint Benedict and Servant of God Gertrude Agnes Barber.
