Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has announced several new appointments within the Archdiocese of Louisville, effective July 15, 2025. Reverend Robert D. Barnell will become the pastor of St. Bartholomew Church after serving at the Church of the Ascension. Father Barnell was ordained in May 2018 and has served in various parishes across the archdiocese.

Reverend Matthew Millay is appointed as administrator of the Church of the Ascension, marking the end of his roles at Holy Spirit Church and St. Leonard Church.

Reverend Mark M. Hamilton will take on the role of associate pastor at Holy Spirit Church and St. Leonard Church, concluding his duties at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon and Holy Name of Mary Church in Calvary.

The Very Reverend Anthony L. Chandler, KCHS, will serve as presbyteral moderator for the Church of the Ascension while continuing his work at other churches and as vicar for priests.

Reverend Pablo A. Hernández is granted time off to address health concerns starting June 26, 2025.
