Voters in Nebraska have passed a significant amendment, Initiative 434, aimed at ending late-term abortions. The measure succeeded over Initiative 439, which was supported by pro-abortion advocates.

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser expressed satisfaction with the outcome. "We celebrate the lives that will be saved with the triumph of Initiative 434 over the ACLU’s attempt to enshrine all-trimester abortion in the constitution," she stated. Dannenfelser credited leaders such as Sen. Pete Ricketts and Gov. Jim Pillen for their roles in challenging what she described as misinformation from the abortion industry.

The passing of Initiative 434 reinforces policies protecting babies after the first trimester, according to SBA Pro-Life America. The organization argued that Planned Parenthood's efforts to remove health regulations and influence parental rights had been thwarted.

"Nebraska’s victory shows that when the GOP invests time and money to fight ballot measures, life wins on the ballot," Dannenfelser added. She suggested that Republicans could secure more victories by following Ricketts' example in future ballot initiatives.
