Magnificat of Lincoln is organizing a prayer meal on November 9, featuring Father Matthew Schilmoeller as the speaker. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln. Attendees can expect breakfast, prayer, praise and worship, along with Father Schilmoeller’s testimony.

Father Schilmoeller grew up in Lincoln and completed his education at North American Martyrs Elementary and Pius X High School in 2014. He pursued higher studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of South Dakota. His journey towards priesthood began after attending a "Come and See" weekend at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward in 2016. He graduated from there in 2019 and continued his studies at the Pontifical North American College in Rome.

Currently, Father Schilmoeller serves as an assistant pastor at St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln and teaches senior theology at Pius X High School.

During the November 9 event, he will share his faith journey and vocation story. Following breakfast, there will be teaching sessions accompanied by prayer, praise, and worship.

Those interested in attending must send a $30 check ($20 for students) payable to Magnificat by November 2 to Tina Colgan's address provided by Magnificat. Only pre-paid registrations are accepted; walk-ins are not allowed. For inquiries, contact coordinator Rhonda Litt via text or call.

Magnificat is a ministry for Catholic women under the jurisdiction of the Lincoln Diocese but welcomes women from other Christian faiths as well.
