Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville
St. Vincent de Paul has announced the establishment of the Donna Young Cicchiello Volunteer Fund to honor Donna Young Cicchiello, a long-time staff member who is retiring. The organization praised her as "a beacon of dedication, kindness and leadership in the Louisville community," highlighting her 16 years of service as director of volunteer services.
During her tenure, Young Cicchiello managed over 2,000 volunteers annually for various programs including the Open Hand Kitchen, food pantry, and events like the Friends of the Poor Walk and Santa Shop.
Pam Evans, senior director of advancement and community relations at St. Vincent de Paul, stated that the fund "will play a pivotal role in fostering and enhancing volunteer engagement across our programs." It will provide financial support for projects needing supplies and materials such as landscaping and art initiatives. Additionally, it will support events honoring volunteers and contribute to purchasing items for the annual Santa Shop.
The community is encouraged to honor Young Cicchiello’s legacy by volunteering or donating to the fund via svdplou.org/donate-now/. For further details about the fund, inquiries can be sent to communcations@svdplou.org.
