A recently completed project at Pathways to Care in Casselberry has brought one scout closer to earning his Eagle rank. Clayton B. completed the nearly $3,000 project, which involved building a sensory garden designed to provide enjoyment and health benefits for patients at the assisted living facility. Pathways to Care caters to individuals who need rehabilitation after a hospital stay but have nowhere else to go.

Studies indicate that sensory gardens can help mitigate symptoms of neurological disorders and aid in the development of those with mental health conditions. The garden features a water element and colorful, aromatic plants of different textures.
