Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has announced new clergy assignments effective October 1, 2024, unless otherwise noted.
Reverend Steven D. Henriksen will serve as administrator Pro Tempore of St. Boniface Church and as associate pastor of St. Frances of Rome Church starting October 1. His role as associate pastor of Holy Trinity Church will end at that time.
Father Henriksen's duties will be divided between St. Boniface and St. Frances of Rome. He is scheduled to celebrate daily Masses and Saturday Vigil Masses at St. Frances of Rome while taking on the primary responsibility for the two Sunday Masses at St. Boniface.
He will continue to hold monthly Masses at two nursing homes within Holy Trinity’s boundaries and remain available for funeral services and other sacramental needs for both churches. Father Henriksen will reside in the rectory at St. Frances of Rome.
Born in Clarinda, Iowa, Father Henriksen studied at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, and was ordained on February 2, 2013. His recent assignment has been as associate pastor of St. Frances of Rome while also serving Holy Trinity. Since his ordination, he has served at the Church of the Ascension, St. Michael Church, and Holy Trinity.
Very Reverend David J. Carr will take on the role of associate rector at The Shrine of Saint Martin of Tours, ending his responsibilities at St. Boniface Church.
Rev. Silvio J. Fonseca Martinez is assigned as associate pastor to Holy Spirit Church in Jamestown, Kentucky; Holy Redeemer Church in Greensburg, Kentucky; and Good Shepherd Church in Columbia, Kentucky.
Additionally, Rev. Martinez will provide Spanish-speaking ministries to Christ the Healer Church in Edmonton, Kentucky; Christ the King Church in Tompkinsville, Kentucky; Emmanuel Church in Albany, Kentucky; and Holy Cross Church in Burkesville, Kentucky starting September 10.
