Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville

Hildegard House, located at 114 Adams St., is actively seeking volunteers to serve as compassionate companions, providing end-of-life care for individuals without a home or loved ones to care for them.

Volunteers are expected to commit to a weekly five-hour shift, offering care so residents may die with dignity and access hospice care, according to a press release from Hildegard House. There is a particular need for volunteers who can serve during the evening shift.

A training session for new volunteers is scheduled for Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Interested individuals can register by visiting www.hildegardhouse.org and completing the online volunteer application. For more information, call 653-1488.
