Revered Carl A. Kemme, D.D. Bishop | Diocese of Witchita
The One Family, Fully Alive in Christ Campaign has reached a significant milestone as active appeals conclude in 19 Wave One parishes. The campaign recently surpassed $20 million in gifts, pledges, and planned gifts from parishioners across the diocese. With more than 40% of the overall $50 million goal raised, the campaign is progressing as it prepares to expand to additional parishes in the coming months.
“I am humbled and inspired by the generous response of those who participated in this first wave of parishes,” said Bishop Carl Kemme. “To all our pastors, volunteers, and donors who have helped us reach this milestone, thank you!”
“We continue to make great progress toward our goal, thanks to the leadership and generosity of so many across our diocese,” said Mike Wescott, diocesan Director of Development and Planned Giving. “It’s exciting to see more and more people step up in support of our parishes, schools, and ministries through this campaign!”
As the first wave of parish appeals concludes, 32 parishes in Wave Two are now working closely with the campaign team to prepare for kickoff later this fall. The preparation and planning phase will take place through September, with active fundraising starting in October and running through the end of the year. The third wave of parishes will begin preparation work in early 2025 and will start fundraising in spring next year.
During this period, every Catholic family will be asked to make an extraordinary gift or pledge supporting the campaign’s priorities: salary enhancements for Catholic school teachers, purchasing and developing a family and youth camp, restoration work at the Cathedral, support for Individual Parish Needs, and additional funding to serve the poor and vulnerable in communities.
