The inaugural “Dawson Scramble” was held on June 26 at Woodland Hills Golf Club in Lincoln to benefit Villa Marie Home and School for Exceptional Children. The event was hosted by Jim Essay, Walter Zink, and Matt Jilek, with more than 80 participants.

“Today we celebrated and recognized Monsignor Dawson’s 95th birthday and his vision 60 years ago to establish Villa Marie,” said Msgr. John Perkinton, chief administrative officer of the school. He provided spiritual guidance and putting assistance for teams on a designated hole.

The top team, consisting of Aaron May, Father Steven Mills, Father Jim Meysenburg, and Luke Hicks, sponsored by Aaron and Rebecca (Dawson) May, won a six-hole playoff over the runner-up Team Union Bank & Trust. Team Union Bank & Trust included Doris Robertson, Chris Wagner, Keith May, and T.J. Hansen.
