On June 8, 2024, Bishop John Noonan will ordain 18 men to the Permanent Diaconate. These men, after years of formation and discernment, are prepared to enter a life of service to their communities guided by the Holy Spirit.
Thomas Buddington Jr. shared his journey back to the Lord, highlighting the importance of prayer in leading him to a life of service. He expressed, “It is an amazing ministry wherein you get to encounter the profound sacredness in all of God’s children.” Buddington, alongside his wife, looks forward to serving God with dedication.
Miguel Carrion, reflecting on his humble beginnings, expressed his joy in the formation process, stating, “We truly love the formation process and how it has transformed us.” He and his wife are eager to leverage their learnings to serve their community in diakonia.
Josue Diaz, a civil engineer, shared his experience of discernment, acknowledging the challenges he faced. He expressed, “As I walk this diaconal path together with my wife and children, I envision a future of service for the people of God.” Diaz highlighted the importance of family in his journey.
Jorge Gómez, recalling his upbringing in a devout Catholic family, emphasized the impact of prayer and consecration in his call to the diaconate. He looks forward to working with children and young people in fostering vocations to religious life.
Angelo Guevara, with a background in engineering, expressed his commitment to service in his community. He shared, “My heart is enriched as I witness the transformative impact of these organizations.” Guevara looks forward to addressing the needs of his community in collaboration with the Church.
Felix Hernández, a military intelligence officer turned healthcare professional, highlighted the transformative nature of his formation journey. He expressed his excitement for Ordination, envisioning a future of service and charity rooted in Scripture and faith.
Edgar Jecino, a technical support technician, shared the challenges he faced during formation and the importance of relying on God’s grace. Jecino credited the support of his community and God’s presence in guiding him through difficult times.
Thomas Meyer, a business owner, expressed his joy in serving his community through various ministries. He looks forward to continuing his service as a deacon and growing in faith alongside his fellow deacons.
Danilo Paugh, a retired U.S. Navy veteran, highlighted his commitment to service, especially in providing education and housing for underprivileged children. He emphasized the transformative power of faith in action and the importance of continuous spiritual formation.
These men, each with a unique journey and calling, are ready to embark on their new roles as deacons, serving the Lord faithfully and dedicating themselves to the well-being of their communities.
