Marian University's Saint Joseph College students are embarking on transformative journeys through a unique 'Earn and Learn' program, where they have the opportunity to earn an associate degree in business or liberal arts while gaining valuable work experience with Indianapolis business partners.

First-year student Madelyn Brubaker, pursuing a cybersecurity degree, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, "I really love that St. Joe's has given me an opportunity to learn and work at the same time. It's a cool blend of academic and practical experience." Brubaker highlighted the sense of community and support she feels at Saint Joseph College, making her experience fulfilling.

Jeermal Sylvester, the director of workforce development at Saint Joseph's, emphasized the impact of hands-on learning opportunities through partnerships with Indianapolis business leaders. Sylvester stated, "Our partnership with Indianapolis business leaders opens doors for our students, allowing them to cultivate essential skills within their chosen industries."

Dean Bessie Rigakos, Ph.D., shared her passion for empowering students from diverse backgrounds, stating, "Our 'Earn and Learn' program fosters a culture of collaboration and mentorship which extends well beyond the classroom."

Ledarius Johnson, a site coordinator for Listen to the Future, expressed his dedication to helping students succeed and offering his experience to current Saint Joseph's students. Johnson shared, "I really enjoy what I do because it gives back continuously, and I am here now to offer my experience to a current Saint Joseph's student."

As students are matched with their employers, many expressed their satisfaction with their Saint Joseph College experience. Brubaker reflected on her decision, stating, "This was definitely one of the best decisions of my life. I feel encouraged, energized, and excited about my future."
