Diocese issues seven parish Decrees of Suppression

The Diocese has recently issued a series of Decrees of Suppression affecting multiple parishes in the region. The Decrees, which were released on March 22, 2024, outline significant changes within the affected churches.

Among the decrees issued are the "Decree of Suppression of St. Mary in Chillicothe, St. Peter in Chillicothe, and St. Mary, Queen of the Missions, in Waverly" as well as the "Decree of Suppression of St. Peter in Columbus and St. Joan of Arc in Powell." Additionally, the Diocese announced the "Decree of Suppression of St. Vincent de Paul in Mount Vernon and St. Luke in Danville."

Further changes are detailed in the "Decree of Suppression of St. Mary in Groveport and St. John XXIII in Canal Winchester" and the "Decree of Suppression of St. Matthias in Columbus and changing of St. Elizabeth in Columbus." The Diocese also issued the "Decree of Suppression of St. Joseph in Somerset and changing of Holy Trinity in Somerset," along with the "Decree of Suppression of Our Lady of Lourdes in Ada and Immaculate Conception in Kenton."
