Aquinas Catholic Schools in David City recently held a 'Vocations Day' where graduates and special guests shared their inspiring stories with students. Father Scott Nemec, a 2012 graduate of Aquinas, encouraged students to embrace the presence of Jesus, stating, "remain open to Him."
Sister Fiat Marie, a 2010 Aquinas graduate, humorously recounted her journey from being a "college drop-out" to finding her vocation with the School Sisters of Christ the King.
Sister M. Xavier Schulz shared her transition from playing Division I basketball to becoming a Sister of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George. She reflected on following God's plan and described the moment she felt called by Jesus to become His bride.
The event also included a friendly basketball game between the sisters and Aquinas senior boys, where Father Nemec joined in, turning the game into a four-on-four match. The playful interaction was captured in a video available on Aquinas Catholic’s Facebook page.
Following the game, Father Nemec and the sisters continued their day at Aquinas Catholic Elementary, visiting classrooms and engaging in outdoor activities with the children, including playing football.
