Br. David Anthony Migliorino, O.S.F. ’79GEd, Principal of Saint Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, NY, expressed his feelings about being honored at the 13th Annual Leaders in Education Awards Dinner, stating, "I was initially surprised and rather shocked. I feel most fortunate to be a recipient of such an honor."

Reflecting on his career, Br. Migliorino shared, "I have been in Catholic education for nearly 50 years, and in Catholic school administration for the past 29 years. I am currently in my fifth year as Principal of Saint Anthony’s High School."

When asked about the impact of his degree from The School of Education, Br. Migliorino emphasized, "It has directed my path. I have used so many of the classes to guide me in my role as principal."

Recalling the professors who influenced him, Br. Migliorino mentioned, "There were many, but I was definitely influenced by Sr. Virginia, a Maryknoll Sister. Her lessons were fascinating and she made me love teaching even more than I thought possible."

Regarding his time as a student in The School of Education, Br. Migliorino cherished the relationships he formed, stating, "I cherish the close relationships I had with my fellow students and professors. They challenged me to be a better teacher and now a better administrator."

In offering wisdom to the next generation of alumni, Br. Migliorino advised, "Enjoy every class; realize that what you learn will help you reach more students in positive ways. I love my role as a teacher and principal—and so should you. It is a special calling; we hold the future of our world in our midst each day."
