Iona University's Center for Career Development is hosting its Spring Career & Internship Fair on Thursday, February 29, providing students with an opportunity to connect with over 80 leading employers from various industries. The event is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent alumni from all majors.

Students who attend the fair will have the chance to make valuable connections with employers in sectors such as education, healthcare, law enforcement, government, utilities, finance, and nonprofits, among others. This presents a unique opportunity for students to explore potential career paths and gain insights into different industries.

To ensure student success at the fair, the Center for Career Development is offering speed resume reviews. Students are encouraged to visit the center beforehand for a review, which will help them put their best foot forward and make a lasting impression on potential employers.

In addition to the professional networking opportunities, students who register for the fair will receive a free professional headshot. This is an invaluable asset for building a professional online presence and enhancing job applications.

The Center for Career Development has created a comprehensive before, during, and after checklist for students to maximize their success at the fair. This checklist includes tips on how to prepare, what to bring, and how to follow up with employers after the event.

"Our Spring Career & Internship Fair is a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with employers and explore potential career paths," said the spokesperson for Iona University's Center for Career Development. "We encourage all students to take advantage of this event and make the most of the networking opportunities available."

Iona University, founded in 1940, is a private, Catholic, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers. With campuses in New Rochelle and Bronxville, just 20 miles north of Midtown Manhattan, Iona offers a diverse range of academic programs across multiple disciplines.

Iona is highly accredited and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in liberal arts, science, business administration, as well as various certificate programs. The university is widely recognized for its academic excellence, with prestigious rankings such as The Princeton Review's "Best 389 Colleges" and The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse's "Best Colleges in America."

The university's commitment to excellence extends to its LaPenta School of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International, a recognition awarded to just six percent of business schools worldwide. Furthermore, Iona's on-campus MBA program has been recognized by The Princeton Review as a "Best Business School."

In July 2021, Iona announced the establishment of the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences, located on the Bronxville campus in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian. Additionally, the university recently announced plans to expand abroad with a new campus in County Mayo, Ireland, connecting to its Irish heritage.

As Iona continues to grow and enhance its academic programs, it officially changed its status from College to University on July 1, 2022, reflecting the prestige and quality of an Iona education.
