A Maranatha Retreat for individuals living with chronic illnesses and their caregivers is scheduled to take place on May 11. The retreat, organized by the Family and Life Ministries Office, aims to provide a day of shared spiritually-based activities and an opportunity to experience the love of God.
The retreat will be held at the Flaget Center on Lewiston Dr. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will consist of spiritual presentations, small-group sharing, prayer, and the chance to participate in various sacraments. The event is open to 10 individuals living with chronic illnesses, as well as 10 caregivers. The participants can range in age from young adults to senior citizens.
According to the organizers, individuals with various chronic illnesses and medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes, heart and lung problems, stroke, depression, stress, and anxiety are eligible to participate in the retreat. To ensure that the retreat caters to individual needs, each person who registers will have the opportunity to discuss their health condition with one of the organizers.
The retreat is free of charge; however, registration is required. Those interested in attending or seeking more information can contact Denise Bouchard at the Family and Life Ministries Office. She can be reached at 636-0296 or via email at dbouchard@archlou.org.
