As the new school year begins, Knights of Columbus councils across the country are helping schools prepare to welcome students back amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, a release issued on the Knights website said.

Assistance from the Knights has come in various forms, from finishing construction projects to providing needed supplies to cash funding.

These activities are just the latest in the Order’s long history of furnishing support to schools and students in need. Their activities date back to the early 20th century, when the Knights gave support to Catholic schools on Native American reservations. After World War I, they provided employment and educational assistance to returning veterans.

Their endeavors to support schools and students continues today. They provide scholarship programs to deserving students and have even built new Catholic schools.

The Knights continue their support of the community now during the COVID-19 era as part of the Leave No Neighbor Behind initiative.
