Church of Assumption issued the following announcement on June 14
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today we celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. Jesus is truly and really present in the Bread and Wine, consecrated at Mass.
At that moment of consecration is when Jesus becomes present to us, and remains. This is why we have the tabernacle light that reminds us of the real presence of Jesus in our church building at all times.
We can come and pray in church and know that Jesus is there to listen to us. This is one of the great graces we have as Catholics.
So today as we celebrate this real and true presence, may our hearts be filled with joy, that God has drawn so near to us, his people. May we also as church, the body of Christ on earth, by our outreach to others make the love of God visible in the world.
Have a blessed week.
Love,
Father Paul
