The Knights of Columbus Council #7704 of Crete will host a speaker and a movie on April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the church hall, 1331 Hawthorne Ave., Crete.
Jim Bertrand, M. Ed., a retired teacher and member of the American Confraternity of the Holy Shroud, will be the speaker for the event. Bertrand, who taught high school science for 39 years, now dedicates his time to giving presentations on the Shroud of Turin. He has given hundreds of talks around the nation using a life-size replica of the artifact – 14.5 feet long and 3.5 feet wide.
Attendees will have the opportunity to watch the film, “The Shroud of Turin; Scientific Evidence of the Passion,” produced by David Rolfe. The film, which runs for 59 minutes and is in English, will be screened after Bertrand's presentation.
Food and snacks will be provided for all those attending the event. For any inquiries about the April 19 event, individuals can contact Knight James Scheideler at (402) 429-4326.
