Bishop A. Elias Zaidan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace, expressed gratitude for efforts to end the conflict in Gaza. In a statement released from Washington, Bishop Zaidan said: “I am immensely grateful to the United States and multilateral partners for their tireless work to begin the process that will, God willing, culminate in the ending of the devastating war in Gaza.”

The bishop's remarks come as international actors initiate steps toward peace in the region. He called attention to ongoing humanitarian needs among Gazans and emphasized support for diplomatic measures aimed at resolving hostilities.
