Dr. Kimberley Cleveland, Dean of Walsh University’s College of Health Sciences | Walsh University
Walsh University has announced the launch of its First Responders: Service to Scholars Program, aimed at expanding educational opportunities for first responders and their families. The program offers a 15% tuition discount on most academic programs for eligible first responders and their dependents who are accepted for admission.
The initiative is open to law enforcement officers, EMTs, paramedics, volunteer and active duty firefighters, search and rescue members, dispatchers, and veterans. Walsh University states that this effort recognizes the sacrifices made by these groups in service to their communities by providing access to flexible educational options designed to support career advancement.
“Programs such as the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and others lend themselves ideally to first responders who benefit greatly from the additional medical training and credentialing,” said Dr. Kimberley Cleveland, Dean of Walsh University’s College of Health Sciences. “We want to be a resource for our community, not only as an extension of our mission, but to help build pathways for healthcare professionals and meet the needs of our citizens.”
Walsh University provides more than 30 online and graduate programs tailored for working adults. Among the featured offerings are a two-year Fast Track Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a ten-month Online Accelerated MBA, Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Accounting, Management, and Supply Chain Management; Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Health or Health Sciences; as well as master’s programs in Exercise Physiology, Counseling, and Nursing.
